Author: I was recently in the market for some stylish under cabinet lighting to be installed in my new house. I wake up a lot at night to get a midnight snack and I hate having to turn on the main kitchen light to do so, which always makes it harder to get back to sleep. I did some research and learned about this type of lighting, which I thought I might be able to do myself.
So I went down to Home Depot on Sunday to price some led strip lights and other styles as well. I wasn’t too impressed with what I saw, and what they wanted to charge to have it installed I felt was just too much. As soon as I got home I dusted off my old tools and went to work. It had been awhile since I did any kind of home improvement project, but I figured it was like riding a bike.
But I couldn’t have been more wrong. I cut holes too big, messed up the wiring, and even cut my finger pretty badly. I got so frustrated that I almost decided not to have any under counter lighting at all, but that was a hasty decision.
