In a society that values material goods very highly, it can be difficult not to pick up a few hoarding tendencies. The average American home is very cluttered and here are a few ways to clear it up before it gets to the point of hoarding. One of the reasons our homes seem messy is because we don’t have the storage furniture to hold everything we own. We are also constantly buying new things that will become useless very soon. For starters, we need to throw away or donate many of the material goods we have that we no longer use. Freeing up some clothes hangers is usually very easy to do in the average American home. There are definitely a lot of clothes that we don’t wear anymore.

Once that’s done, cleaning up the kitchen by throwing away all expired products and getting rid of anything you don’t plan to eat or cook with can free up quite a bit of space. Once you do all this, you’ll be surprised that around 70% of your refrigerator was filled with products you were never going to eat. You’ll have so many free hangers that you’ll want to throw half of them away. These are just a few ideas to start you off. There’s much more to be done in the home. Go and find them.
