Milestone birthdays are a big deal for most people, but the 60th birthday is a really special one. This may be the last birthday before retirement and the first one that includes grandchildren. And while some folks are leery of big celebrations this is one of those times to let go and enjoy.

If you’re looking for 60th birthday ideas, and the time of year is right, consider hosting an “Over the Hill” picnic on a scenic hilltop. This type of celebration could be presented as a potluck, picnic, or even as a catered event. As long as the weather holds, a good time is likely to be had.

Be sure and ask party guests to bring over the hill gag gifts like canes and adult diapers. Don’t worry about keeping gifts you don’t need. Homeless shelters and other charities are happy tp take these types of items.
